About Loveborn
Loveborn is a holistic postpartum wellness practice rooted in San Diego, founded by Leah — a certified placenta encapsulation specialist, San Diego native, and mother who believes the transition into parenthood deserves reverence, warmth, and hands-on care.
Born from experience
Loveborn grew out of Leah's own postpartum journey — the tender, overwhelming, beautiful blur of becoming a mother. In that season she discovered placenta encapsulation and felt firsthand the steady, grounding support it offered during the most transformative weeks of her life.
The experience left a mark. She trained and certified in placenta encapsulation, not to build a business, but because she couldn't stop thinking about how many new mothers move through that same threshold without the support they deserve.
Loveborn was created to fill that gap — to offer postpartum care that feels like receiving help from a trusted friend, not a clinical transaction. Every interaction is personal. Every service is delivered with the kind of intention that only comes from someone who has been there.
Wabi-sabi at the root
We draw inspiration from wabi-sabi — the Japanese philosophy that finds beauty in the imperfect, the unfinished, the transient. Birth is not sterile or symmetrical. It is raw, sacred, and achingly alive. We believe postpartum care should honor that.
Every capsule, tincture, and keepsake is prepared with the same intention as old-world remedies — by hand, one family at a time. There are no assembly lines here. No shortcuts. Just careful, unhurried work carried out with the kind of attention your birth story deserves.
Our aesthetic lives in the same space: warm earth tones, apothecary glass, hand-lettered labels. We want every piece you receive to feel like something you'd keep on a shelf, not toss in a drawer.
Held to the highest standard
Your safety — and your baby's — is the foundation everything else is built on. Leah is OSHA bloodborne pathogen certified and food safety certified, and follows strict protocols for every preparation.
All encapsulation work is completed in a dedicated workspace using single-use equipment and hospital-grade sanitization. Each placenta is handled individually, never alongside another family's, and every step of the process is documented.
We take these precautions seriously so you never have to worry. You can hand over your placenta knowing it will be treated with the same care and respect you'd give it yourself.
Across the county, at your side
We serve families across San Diego County — from Oceanside to Chula Vista, and everywhere in between. Whether you're delivering at a hospital, a birth center, or in the comfort of your own home, we coordinate placenta pickup within hours of your baby's arrival.
Timing matters during those first postpartum hours, and we work around your schedule — not the other way around. You focus on your baby. We take care of the rest.
